Thanks, that is worrying, just pinged off an email to insurance company to check....Allianz again, seems to be theme (and precedent) developing.
Just done exactly the same.....
Advised that light bulbs brighter than those specified by manufacturer, different profile tyres and any form of window tint, sun visor strip or anything attached to glass counts as 'modification to manufacturers original specification for the insured vehicle'
Can't see any of my cars being unaffected by this sort of insanity.
What next rubber floor mats?

I always buy insurance over the phone as it’s a two way conversation, I’m not keen online as you tick the box and take responsibility.
The modifications were one thing flux tried to use against me when I claimed, they listened to there recording and I’d given all the correct information.
Another reason is I’m a foster carer you don’t get paid but you get a fee (this gets the government out of the minimum wage argument)
However you do get paid for your mileage! So is it classed as a job? Best to always have them make a note just in case.
I also declare the tow bar not just for the towing reasons (I’ve never got to the bottom of what’s insured there) but if I have a rear end shunt the car will be damaged in a different way and could cost more to repair.

Use a broker, Dave, and the onus is on them to gather all the necessary information. If they don't do their job, you have come back under their Professional Indemnity cover if it goes wrong.
Do it online and you're on your own, as it's not classed as 'giving advice'......

End of sales pitch...
Sold!
I’ll send you a list next year, 2 cars, 1work van, 3 classics, 2 trailers, house and contents..
Dose anyone sell decent insurance for tools in my garage at home and trailers parked in my back garden?
You need to place a advert on here selling quality insurance, you can make a few quid and buy more minis..

I feel that there is definitely a niche market some enlighten broker who really understands 'our lot ' not your average car owner or customer, but happy to pay fairly for a comprehensive policy covering daily cars, classics, vans , trailers, cars in storage or restoration and all of our tools and equipment.

Happy to give advice Dave but I’m a commercial man, and with a bit of luck, and the wind behind, retiring in a year.
