Great project,
Can you provide the date of dispatch and the destination, city or dealer. I'm assuming it's California.
I'm in the States too and enjoy researching race Minis.
Hope to be able to help.
It dispatched May,23 1967. It only says USA but I think it’s been a California car it’s whole life. I’ve been trying to find out about it’s race history but coming up short. The guy I got it from never answers. I think he knew the guy who built and raced it. I’ll probably try to contact him again.

Some progress today on the front wing lip. Thank you Iain for the arch panels… they worked well. Need to clean up a few parts but very happy with it. Need to tackle the LH side now. Going to order some seam covers to try to put the seams back as well. Any one have experience with Weber cut out. Any input on how to add it back in? Mine is huge and the patch panel they sell is more like a “t” shape and mine is a huge rectangle. I guess I could get that label then add in with sheet metal the missing parts.

Hey Mike,
I too had the issue of having a Weber box that had been cut in to the bulk head and the available patch panel from the normal suppliers didn’t quite cover the opening.
Nick Upton is restoring my shell (you can find him on this forum) and he made his own buck so that he could reproduce the panel with a larger area around the hole to fill in the cutout for the Weber. It may be worth it to touch base with him. He is also located in California.
Your project is looking great! Always fun seeing progress made!
Cheers,
Cole

Oh awesome! Thank you for the recommendation. He runs boot 2 bonnet correct? I will have to touch base with him and see what he thinks.

I don't know if any of the Mini parts suppliers on your side of the pond stock Magnum panels but they do a full bulkhead skin for a reasonable price:

Yes I’ve seen this. Turns out to be a bit more than I would like to spend after shipping just to cut up the top part. Weighing my options I guess.

Been really busy with work and my new co pilot Higgins. Finally got around to finishing up the arch lips. Next up is adding the seams back in. I think I found a acquaintance that has a mk1 parts car that can cut out the bulk head section I need.
