Did you mean me Pete? I just look on Ebay and but on line and buy the basics and ask for no name/postcode. They seem happy to oblige.

Worth bearing in mind that ANPR's don't recognise black/whites/silver and non reflectives.

That is an urban myth.

Most modern number plate detection software is quite sophisticated and look for shapes not colours, and can read pretty much all number plates, so I hear.

There was also a myth that those raised gel number plates avoided ULEZ cameras, but thats an urban myth too, probably started by those who sell them through crappy instagram ads!

Think about, if your iPhone can tell you what bread of dog is from a photo, an expensive system designed solely to read letters and numbers, will be able to read silver on black plates!

My mini with old black/silver pressed alloy Hills number plates gets picked up by the Dartford crossing ANPR and charged accordingly.

That's strange......... My w&b plates are not recognised by the car park cameras. Indeed, just this very week it happened yet again. The parking machine simply scrolled '...number nor recognised.....' And then asked me to approximate what time I parked several hour before. Hardly an urban myth I'd suggest beardy!

Depends on the software, some sh1te car park cameras are probably running cheap off the shelf not properly calibrated crap. Not the full blown ANPR the police use. Try running around say in an untaxed motor and see how long it takes the law to pull you!
See Dartford crossing post above, when there’s real motivation to make money, they will use the proper stuff!
The urban myth I was referring to, was using black and white plates to avoid police, congestion charge, ULEZ and tolls, not Mickey Mouse car parks!

I have what may be termed illegal show plates on the van.
It passes mot, the camera at the airport can recognise it, and also the toll cameras on the Dublin ring road.

It often takes a few days for the dartford crossing to pick up LFF when I cross. My daily golf is picked up on the same day.
