They cross over from right to left tucked under the slam Panel as stated above by jayare......
Good news is I will only be doing this once.
I ran the LH headlamp wires through the inner fender and under the slam panel (just like the RH headlamp wires).
I will need to purchase two double bullet connectors for the blue/white and blue/red wires.
I have a double bullet connector for the ground/black wires

Now you're getting it.......
All those wires should meet just around the hood latch area under the slam panel...

... onto the steering column.
Left = steering column wires
Top = wiring loom wires
the car is a ‘66 “S” and the wiring loom was purchased in 1993.
Colors do not quite match.
- Column has brown/black and loom has purple/black.
- Column has green and loom has green/purple
Is this just a difference in years - ‘66 vs ‘93?
The loom has a black ground while the steering column does not.
How do I need to handle this?

5 way connector. Check wiring diagram for S. Indicators x 2. Relay on bulkhead x 2. Horn is 5th connection plus an earth wire.

I found this 5 way connector. I was wondering what this was for.
I did locate another wire diagram which does show the 5-way connector (#24, #26, #27)
It also shows the black wire going to the heater (#33).
Thanks, I think I now understand these wires.

Re: Wiring Loom Routing
That black wire maybe the earth for the heater blower motor.
I have found that an extra earth wire needs to be run from the mounting for the indicator switch to earth, to enable proper operation of the horn and indicator tell-tale on the stalk.
Though these should earth through the steering column, they don't always.

Re: Wiring Loom Routing
Hi/low beams have a separate loom which connects to the main loom.
Is this connection made on the engine side in the white binnacle or under the dash?

You are correct.
I am trying to determine where the connection is made.
To options.
1) feed the main loom down through the binnacle and make the connection under the dash.
2) feed the hi/low loom up through the binnacle and make the connection in the engine compartment in the binnacle.
Which Option is correct?

Thanks, will do.bwaminispeed wrote: ↑Sun Oct 04, 2020 1:59 am That part of the wiring harness should be below the Dash/Binnacle.....
I believe I have the binnacle connections.
Voltage stabilizer wires are as follows :
“B” — two light green wires from the harness (far left and top left)
“I” — light green wire to temperature gauge, dark green wire to fuel gauge
Next up is wiring the switches.

Re: Wiring Loom Routing
Heater switch & wiper switch questions
33 = heater blower motor
32 = heater switch
36 = wiper switch
Wire colors not quite in sync.
I will connect white wire from heater blower motor to black double connector coming out of loom which was fed through the hole in the Speedo.
I will connect the green/yellow to terminal #7 of the wiper switch.
On the wiring diagram I was wondering what the heavy dark line is on the wiper switch which connects terminals #7 and #8. I now know this represents the wiper switch which connects #7 and #8 when off and #7 and #6 when on.

Re: Wiring Loom Routing
I came across this unknown part while working on my wiring harness in the speedo area.
Turns out it is a clip that holds the wiring harness to the speedo bracket.
Here is a before shot of the wiring harness hanging down in the middle of the speedo area.
You can see the speedo bracket on either side of the speedo. It looks like a square with a circular hole in the middle.
Here is a after shot of the wiring harness tucked into the clip on the left side of the speedo area.
Seems this piece is easily lost - 13H2183 - and may no longer be available.

The wires from the high beam floor mounted switch connect to wires in the front harness.
What is the proper routing of these wires?

Re: Wiring Loom Routing
There should be wires coming out of the harness going to the floor switch......no need to run separate wires to the headlights, the wires should be already in the harness......
There should be blue, blue/white, and blue/red wires already bundled together that go to the floor switch, the necessary headlight wiring will already be in the main harness going to the headlights........

Re: Wiring Loom Routing
Here is my front harness
The 3 blue wires (top middle) are for the high beam dip switch.
I have a separate loom (about 2 feet long) which contains 3 identical blue wires.
One end of this loom is connected to the dip switch and the other end needs to find it way to the front harness.
My question re: the route this separate loom takes to meet the front harness.
Does this section of the (blue wires and red wires) stay in the speedo binnacle or drop down through the binnacle onto the parcel shelf?

Re: Wiring Loom Routing
Hi, I'm having an electrical problem on my 1960 Morris Mini Minor deluxe, which before I start dismantling things I was wondering if anybody might have an answer.
When I switch the lights on with the ignition on, the fuel gauge indicator drops to empty. I'm assuming it's an earthing problem, but because it's so tight in the back of the Speedo I don't want to disrupt anything whilst fiddling.
Any thoughts?
Thanks

Re: Wiring Loom Routing
Those three plugs (those are the ones that already go to the front of the car), should go directly under the dash, and, the short harness connects them to the Switch........that's it......no further connection is necessary......
On your pic of the harness, everything to the left of that short blank clear area is in the binnacle, everything to the right, is under the dash......That blank area, is where the big grommet goes.......

#1 dip switch wires
I just dropped my heater and should be able to attach the wire loom coming from the dip switch to the main harness which is under the dash.
I know the wires which connect the steering column to the main harness attach to the pedal box using a special clip (5L90). is there a similar clip
for the dip switch wires or do they just hang under the pedal box?
#2 binnacle switch for gauge lights
in the above picture the red and red/white wires are now under the dash ... but the binnacle switch is above the dash.
how do these wires make their way to the binnacle switch? what am I missing?

Re: Wiring Loom Routing
They are long enough, they should be able to go back up through the grommet.......Seems silly to design the wiring harness that way though.....
Don't know about the clips.....
