I've owned it for a year now.
There is evidence that it was imported in 1988.
The previous owner had owned it continuously since 1988.

It is listed as a HJB656D recce vehicle on this site, and listed as a heritage body in the products for sale.
I think the car I own has the original body, but I thought it might be a recce car, so I was looking up the chassis number.

Interesting, I do remember that car, HMO 820D was exported soon after that auction sale. So that’s your car’s clone and even more interestingly there’s definitely a connection with the other clone that’s currently causing a big stink that I mentioned earlier. The chassis number is indeed one away from that of HJB 656D but as they’re seemingly not related it’s probably best if we continue this conversation in private.

Pete

Sorry for the conversation that has nothing to do with HJB656D.
Thank you for your detailed answer.

I'm happy because this forum people are so kind.

No problem, it’s hardly your fault that a crook has cloned your car. It’s a big business that has been covered up for many years.

Indeed.

The green one is the real one - in Japan since 1993.

To save a mark getting more aggro I’ve taken this discussion over to Facebook. Leon in Japan has supplied more photos of his car HMO 820D which clearly has its original chassis plate attached which means the clone with the same chassis and reg number in the U.K doesn’t, the clone was a well known car up here in Lancashire and has now itself been exported. As a matter of interest both twins came from the same source as so many other cloned cars previously discussed on here.
