Nick W wrote:looking at the last picture , have you tried the outer A panel on as the gap looks tight to me.
Im wondering if you have the inner wing and bulkhead correctly together but the hole thing dropping down if you see what I mean its easy to loose this dimension when all the floor is out.
you might need some adjustable bracing front to rear if this is the case.

I exhausted now ...going back to work
It is tight nick but not too worried I know the inner wing can flex back a bit more which will help with the gap, apart from this tight gap nick would you say all looks well with with the photos,

I share Nick’s concern about the gap when the outer A panel is fitted Guy.

Will have a look at the pics in more detail when I get home this lunchtime as viewing on the phone is not ideal.

Glad you have got the hang of pic posting :)

ok if its the sill then then its the sill, its just that Ive seen a similar restoration where every panel was altered to fit and it wasnt looking good at the end of it (not no this forum by the way) just dont want to see you going wrong with it.

Yes the doors look like they will fit nicely when you get this little issue sorted.

I know what your saying nick scares the crap out of me getting it wrong so I’ve taken measurements floor to sill at rear and front on the right side there is a 15 mm height difference, done the same other side and the measurements don’t even match the right side

The tunnel looks good and tight with toe board, the floor sits snug with inner wings, put level on tunnel and that’s plumb which I take as a positive

Any comments ideas welcome thanks

I’ve got plenty of movement to work with the tight gap Andrew so not too worried about that, you are both right it is tight at moment I just wanted to show how well the door fitted at this early stage in relation to the problem we’re having, yes photos say a lot more

Thanks for taking the time to look and post

That's good then Guy. The rest of the door gaps do look very acceptable I'll say.

You'll get there, just don't do anything drastic until you have given it some real thought....and again...and again ;)

So after triple checking everything as advised we can confirm that the outer sills were 10mm too high at the front, luckly the sill was welded correctly in the heal board

On the passenger side it was 20mmtoo high tapering down to the back :o ,now the full outer a panel fits spot on both sides all holes just about line up

Looks like another strike for mm :( we hope they fair better on the rear floor,

Well we've had no luck with this floor we caught one of the metal tangs on the back of the floor that secures the pipe work and it fell off so thought we would check them all another 3 simply pulled off by hand not happy we hope the floor spot welds are right

sounds like your floor was built by the "new man", hopefully they will sort this quality issue as they have a good reputation to keep

Put a flat chisel between and hit it till it give's ...it should pull a hole in the metal before the weld fails
