Looking good. What has been repaired on the shell? Has it been dipped etc?

[quote="Austin Costin"]To be honest I have no idea why or when the extra shock tube was added, Norman did,nt comment on it either, if anyone has a good reason i would be interested to hear.

Re: Equipe Arden.
I had thought about that, but the hole is 5/16 and the shock bolt is 3/8. We have 7 and 8" wheels, when the tyres are fitted we can have a proper look.
I could only find one picture of the petrol tank to copy from.

Re: Equipe Arden.
i wonder if that extra bracket on the top arm was for a anti roll bar?
i dont think shocks would fit that far in as the body of them would rub on the inner wing

Re: Equipe Arden.
Are those the old arches, or can those be bought? They look VERY nice compared to most Gp5 arches I've seen.

Yes Mark, fantastic thread, before long Paul will spend more time trying to give answer to our avid questions that rebuilding the car !Austin Costin wrote:

As I spend more time looking at his pictures than working on my brakes !
Paul, should I understand that the - I suppose - riveted ally plate that we can see in the first picture has been deleted ?
Did you rebuild a battery box, or was it left under the plate (highly unlikely I guess) ? Did you rebuild the tunnel as well ?
Also, I understand there was an extra cooler in the inner wing, will you keep it ?
And is it the oil cooler i can spot in this picture - actually just opposite to the forsaid extra cooler :
I do not see it in this picture :
Finally, nice rocker set up, I particularly noticed the large "pedestal" plate :
Cheers Etienne

Re: Equipe Arden.
Yes, the rear bulkhead and boot floor had been replaced with ali, all in the name of saving weight. All this stuff had to go as the spec was to bring the car back to Group 5, 69 saloon car spec, which was pretty much standard.
The extra oil cooler has also been fitted as well as the heater matrix that was placed under the bonnet, the car was changing very slightly from race to race, the coil position seems to move all over the place
The Gp 5 arches were completely made from scratch as we could'nt find a set that truely resembled the origional, we do have the moulds for these and can re make to order if required.
Found out today that the engine is ready and has been on the dyno and will be turning up shortly, unfortunatly I don't have any more power info as yet but will let you know ASAP.
