Could that be because the average age of FB users is 30-40 years younger than that of the spectators at Historic Racing Events.
Maybe so but most of the 5000 followers are certainly under 40 and the material's pretty much all of an historic nature. I was talking about this over the weekend with a mate, we were wondering when 'historic' would start to roll toward the kind of cars we bought in our youth, ie 1275GT etc. Race organisers can't expect that pre '66 will be of interest to the younger generations forever, they need to move with the times as ironic as that sounds. A more progressive approach is needed I think and pre '66 I think will have it's day eventually. We need more Mk2s, Mk3s and 1275 GTs on the motorsport scene as they tend to do in rallying.

That's the way the Members meeting has gone at Goodwood, SD1's / GT's / Dolly Sprints ect, they've also moved the cut off date for the 'pre 66' car park at the revival, so they must be recognising the changes needed

I agree they do at the MM, but don't see it elsewhere. They're the cars most of us grew up with. Great to see some Mk1 Escorts in action at Shelsley!

Both the Classic Sports Car Club...

...and Classic Touring Car Racing Club...

...have events/classes for post '66 cars.

The CTCRC run theirs to Group 1 rules.

With the dropping of grid numbers at the HSCC meeting maybe they should introduce Group1 cars upto 1980 to help fill the grids. They have there 1970s road sports championship as well, so the '70s saloons wouldn't be out of place.

Exactly why I'm building my GT for rallying, at present without spending an utter fortune it doesn't fit anywhere really...

Noting the comments on traders , how much are they being charged ?
