Managed 4 runs and the car popped on to 3 cylinders, no 1 cylinder full of water, came home just changed the head gasket in lightening time, same problem, so suspect head crack, or worse, game over !
As I left Pete and Mark were still having fun , I'll let them tell you there story's when they get back
cracking track, very very slippy first two runs, last run we did was brill, track just drying out.
Bryn then took my lad out in the GT86, what a tool ! , then I was lucky enough to partner Will Corry in said car, him of midget and Irish rally fame, couple of awesome runs with him finished my day there nicely

My cars still in the van after Harewood it's almost undriveable with the lsd playing up,my second practice run was quickest getting slower with each timed run as it seemed to get worse, you could have used it for Barbon no problem. My spare head is on loan awaiting Swifty doing a head or you could have used that, same we didn't had a little more time. What is next event to do?

PS Mark had a problem too. On a run just before lunch he came off the bridge near the end a bit quick and pulled a CV joint. Had to be towed back. Just as we were loading the car onto the trailer the heavens opened and we got a bit wet. I'll post some pictures up sometime tomorrow, although I haven't got that many Minis.

Well, as you have already gathered.
My day wasn't that much better than Steve's.
I managed to get a few more runs under my belt, I got up to about 9 I think, when, as Rich & Wil confidently predicted I got a bit of air over the hump backed bridge & snapped the left hand (short) drive shaft on landing. Otherwise the car was absolutely reliable & very, very fast. Pete also managed to get a few goes in it too. Once I was recovered to the paddock it absolutely pissed it down & I got soaked to the skin. Spent an eventful afternoon helping Pete with a few issues on the Unipower & was home by 10.30.
Not really a weekend I'm looking to repeat for a while. But a few laughs with my mates along the way.

Well that was an interesting weekend! A non operative clutch on my borrowed camper van, bad fuel, f+cked throttle linkage, flat battery on the Unipower, plus the problems Mark and Steve had, and crap weather aside I thought it went quite well!
First time I've driven my car anything like it should be (though still tippy toes really until I get a good test day in the bag) and actually from Saturday onward all went well (except the blood weather). Nice to see Bryn, Dave, Steve and massive thanks to Mark, especially for taking me home on Friday to get my own van. Well it'd be boring if everything went to plan!??
*(give me boring any day!)*
