Well, what an absolutely epic day!
The most fun I have had with my pants on for a very long time!
Our class had a superb mixed bag of Minis some incredibly quick, some not so (me). A wonderful setting & a brilliant opportunity to catch up with a few faces I had not seen for a very long time & Oh! the collection of cars to drool over. From John Coopers very first special through to some very late single seaters. I have never seen so many Cooper 500's in my life! And I haven't even mentioned the superb static display of cars there yet!
All in all an absolutely superb event, my only regret was that it was only a single day, I didn't want to go home.
A MASSIVE thank you to George & Cliff for inviting us & working so hard to get a really superb selection of cars competing & on the Mini / Cooper display.
I only wish that they could do a Cooper 71st anniversary meeting next year!
As far results, as if they matter, you can see them here.

the only result that really matters is the 0.17 that I beat you by
the 'Yorkshire section' trophy is mine!
joking apart, it was one of those events why the times just did not matter, it was just the thrill of tearing up that hill, with the trees so close, it really was a bit of 'face your fears'
god knows what its like in one of those modern single seaters - it will be like going into hyperspace

If you think they were fast you should be there for the top 10 run off with the big boys who manage sub 40s runs with the record from 2014 - 35.51 secs Jos Goodyear in his GWR Raptor Extreme 1340 cc s.
The next time they will be there is for the British & Midland Championship 3 & 4th September.

Would have been even more interesting had DEWS not double booked at Wiscombe. What's all that about? It was one of those events, a classic! Is there anything of a similar 'historic' nature at Prescott next year Cliff? I'd definately be up for a return visit.

The final event this year at Prescott is the Autumn Classic 2 day event in October which has an American theme, displays and action on the hill. Seeing the American muscle cars on the hill is a site to behold. Keep an eye on the Prescott Website page for further details as I couldn't see the classes when I looked just now. The Bugatti Owners Club will be at the NEC show in November and should be giving out 2017 event calendars.

That's a shame, no offence to our closet Yanktank fans , and Rich of course.
After mithering me all day I finally managed to pursuade Master Forster to let Paddy have his picture taken with him..

Probably the largest event on the Prescott calendar is this coming weekend with three days of competition from Friday through Sunday
It is hosted by the VSCC with cars from Edwardians through to Pre-War racers like ERA's with plenty of Bugatti's as well.
That's a weekend well worth the trip - three fields across the road are filled with campers and the Orchard with amazing spectator cars.
Here I am in 2012 in a borrowed 35B:

A borrowed 35B?? You've got some good mates!
Do they have a classic version of that event without the American theme? If not I'll ask my new 'besty' Mr Trevelyan to put one on.

Does anyone else think that David strikes an amazing resemblance to Jim Clark in this picture?

he was really pissed off
he showed me his pass and just kept saying 'look, its says sunday.....SUNDAY...'
I did give him a laugh when I told him I learnt the track by watching that video of him crashing, well '98% of it'
which did make him cheer up a bit
