Great news that you are keeping UPR Dean! As has been said before I made the most stupid mistake selling my Cooper EDV 32C and spent the next 8 years trying to replace it! Needless to say my humble 850 won't be going the same way!

I just got mine today from Book Depository - and very good it is too in the usual James Taylor style.
A couple of things though: I can't see reference to when BMC changed from welded on to bolt on seat brackets. Also, I seem to remember that early Morris Coopers had the bonnet badge mounted half an inch or so higher up, and was moved downwards to make space for the S badge.
Also, the first 998 Cooper was built in late 1963 - the first Morris 998 still exists, and i've driven it!

Got a copy for my birthday (a few days ago) and am reading through it.
Pretty good and an informative book. Picked up on a few mistakes (some I know are, some I think are), but until the New Testament is published then it's the next best thing
PNG462F, the Mk3 Hornet, is the car my father in law bought and restored (strip down, panel work and refit), along with my help (welding and some mechanical) and my dad, the paintwork). Pity it's referred to as Snowberry White.....its Toga White
Thanks to all those involved with this book, it's good to have a Bible for the 850's and variants

Got a copy for Christmas - I really like it, some work has gone into it - well done all involved, just wish it was around when I was restoring my 850!

I got this for Christmas, and I have to say, it's very good. I'm sure over time folk will say "ooh, he got body number detail wrong" or similar, but aren't we lucky folk are mad enough to take the time / effort to write these books. Sure, much of it is available on-line, and everyone's a critic, but I really enjoyed it.
Jennifer picked it up, skimmed through a couple of pages and said "I can't believe you need ANOTHER mini book, but that one does seem to be the most boring yet! It's just pictures of cars in people's drives and photos of door handles" - Takes all sorts!

Kind of agree but essentially it's the enthusiasts that provide a lot of the info, the contacts and the cars for a book like this and they are a commercial venture after all. On the other hand Parnell takes years of research to get as much correct as he can (it could be said far too many with the latest!) which is of great benefit to the reader. There's been so many coffee table books on the Mini with lots of big pictures and so little detail and this one sounds like it falls between the two? From the reviews on here it sounds like a recommended buy so I'll give it a shot!

I’ve just read James Taylor’s new book BMC 1100 and 1300 (An Enthusiast’s Guide), know what I really enjoyed this book. My wife dumped my old anorak and my new one was in the wash so I gave this book a fair hearing. Worth a read and for me another nice BMC book. ADO16 enthusiasts will love this book and those who have designer anoraks may disagree, then again 99% of critics have never written a book
