I might have lost the plot a bit somewhere in this thread but if that dark green Mini originated from Malta and in the colour that it is, you can bet your last penny that it is an ex Army mini, sold off there. There'll probably be tell-tale signs painted on the boot lid that will identify the unit it was issued to. The chassis number will indicate it too. Some of them destined for the Army in the Far East had twin fuel tanks and others had the roofs painted white to deflect/reflect the heat (not even a chance, believe me!) and no heaters fitted of course.
If I was you Baptiste I'd get a heritage check and see what its history was. On that basis, that it now quite a rare variant I'd revert it back to a deep bronze green although the ones destined for the middle and far east were mid bronze green. Does that colour seem familiar to anyone just rebuilding their engine? There was an ex RAF version in that old blue/grey colour being used by a student in Oxford for many years - complete with two fuel tanks as standard and the RAF sign painted over

I searched during long long time , that's why i waited almost one year before start the work on shell
And I found the old mechanic/owner
and he said that he did modifications in the 70's for his client,
because he wanted modern doors as the mk3
this is not an original model, It comes from Portugal

Yes but is it a UK made body...., or what. Is the dark green the original colour? Is it a Spanish bodyshell? Spanish colour? It seems like too much of a coincidence to me.
Ah, yes, I see where I made the Malta connection...... But even so, being a left hand drive it could still be an ex Army Mini from Germany where there were zillions of them - and land rovers and everything else, all left hand drive. All sold off at Hamm when they'd finished their time

Hello Peter, Batiste,
if the car came from Portugal it was mostly for sure built here ( as 99% of them ) from mid sixties onwards.
This green shade is local ( i do not know its code or name ) , it was very common on the Mini IMA vans.

Yeah it's done the wings and the front are welded
I tunned clamp because mines were too short, it's ugly but strong and it works
It's beautifull, every parts at the front are new
I had a pb with the right wing, no way to install the clamp so I made a patch, I still have to cut what exceeds.
Otherwise see the quality of the stamping of some parts from bmh.

I also had issues with lh inner wing, but my problem was at the rear edge were it spot welds to outer a panel, shape was a mile out and I had to cut it and insert a piece to be able to spot weld it to the panel.

My suggestion is to make a little repair panel yourself. Just the very necessary area and maybe out of two pieces. This may take more than one attempt. But you grow with the challenge. You may also consider lead loading it afterwards to make it look tidy.
The holes are imho just a tad too big to just weld them close with a copper bar clamped behind. But again, who dares wins!

Or perhaps gas welding would suffice, look at what Dr Mabo achieves.
