Due to the rain I left my GT at home and didn't get to the club stand. My journey home was as wet as the morning drive so I'm glad I took the soft option.

I have a bunch of pictures to get through, and I also have Tim Harbers' footage to edit, so you can expect the odd bit of media to be posted over the next few days.

Had a great race with Tim in the 2nd race but thought i was going to run into the side of him in the first race and spun in avoidance...Tim and me have raced together for a few years now and have had some great races which he has usually come out on top...Great meeting and thanks to all who took the time to come and say hello over the weekend

Yes, erm , an interesting day. Nice to see old and new friends new racers out first time with us

My footage shows a whole new level of mowing capabilities , which suggests a lack of talent or grip or both. Such is the lack of tyres from Dunlop , I borrowed two tyres off Mike Kearon who has Mike Smith's old car as he wasn't using it so I could blame him

Yes Andy nice that we had a bit of a jolly especially after I nearly de-railed you and following Cortina in the first race (both caught beautifully in my in-car stuff). You will hear how close when you see my attempt to go down the outside at the hairpin and there's this funny rubbing noise.

Would have gone home quite down about our efforts but I was fastest in my class and Andy in Appendix K , which takes some doing against John Milecivic

As an aside. We had a drivers briefing on driving standards. There are now two corners at Oulton that have sensors in the track to record if you put a wheel off the track , and they take a picture of the car so it can't be disputed afterwards. I think Brands and the other MSV tracks have something of this as well. Clever stuff

From that photo Stu the Mustang is using some imaginative tactics to stop the Mini coming through, flame grilled!

They could do with sensors like that at the Donington chicane and virtually all round Silverstone!

Sorry all but my Mini won this time, looked like some great racing again.

For your Friday entertainment here's some race footage from the Gold Cup

First up is highlights of the wet practice and just as wet first race. Make sure your strapped in and hold on tight as it gets a bit bumpy

Next up is the 2nd, slightly drier race. We get a grandstand view of the battle between Steve Platts' Imp and Andy Ace Harrisons Mini

Stills coming soon.

footage of ace more like!!!

I don't think they need the track sensors to spot tim going off track...

...a map and satellite tracking might have been more useful!

I like they way that tims 'womble car' cleans up after his 'off' and neatly collects his own mirror for him!

I have been very busy over the last few weeks and just have not had a chance to get through my Gold Cup stuff.

I have just had a quick scan through and uploaded a couple of shots of Andy.

Sorry I didn't get to the MCR stand so no pictures I'm afraid. I spent most of the day cleaning the grass and muck off car No. 71
