Seat looks great Tim - I ran a pair in my car prior to restoration and we're definitely the most comfortable low back seats I have experienced. Cheers. Mark

Re: DPU 898B Tweed Grey Austin Mini Deluxe
Been a while since the last update on DPU but i had a day to spare at the weekend so i sorted the ongoing electrical problem out and fitted the 'new' '64' stamped dynamo bought at Bulee along with the NOS voltage regulator and that seems to have sorted it. Had another session cleaning the interior and its come up really well with just the right look. Gareth has finished the subframe for the Contour 6 drivers seat and i love the look of the Cooper grille and clear indicator lenses. Next outing will be Stanford Hall in September.
Cheers
Tim

A couple more photos. Next steps will be to fit the stainless door trims, BMC mudflaps and reverse lamp whilst at the front will be a pair of lovely Lucas Flamethrower 700s and i reckon that should just about do it.......oh and the 1293 engine!

Re: DPU 898B Tweed Grey Austin Mini Deluxe
Love this picture of DPU's first owner - George getting into his Son in Laws Austin Super. George bought DPU brand new in 1964 and owned it until 1989 when he stopped driving. Every trip in the car was recorded and a tally chart shows that the longer journeys became fewer as George got older. Fantastic history!

Re: DPU 898B Tweed Grey Austin Mini Deluxe
Long time since the last update on DPU but today I drove down to Farnham to collect my 'new' engine thanks to Underkut. I have decided to go for a 1098 to replace the original 850 just to add a few more horses! The 850 will be kept under the bench in case its needed in the future. The 1098 looks to be a cracking engine and comes with a 202 head and 22G1128 gear box. Hopefully the car will have its new engine for Blyton complete with Alexander rocker cover!

Re: DPU 898B Tweed Grey Austin Mini Deluxe
Thats how they are.
They were originally made for longitudinal A Series engines and do face the "wrong" way, but it is a very fine original, one of only a handful I have ever seen.
