And just to prove the "art" was alive and well in the Antipodes, here we have an NZ contribution.

Compared with some of the earlier contributions, that is a thing of some beauty.

That looks similar to the Minissima concept designed by William Towns.

I actually like the Minijem estate, it reminds me of the fabulous Ferrari 250 SWB "Breadvan'. Maybe a squashed version ?

Also be useful for planting tomatoes in

Can't agree with Spider regarding the Ogle. Always though they looked rather fine in their day.

When I saw that picture above I thought that the Elswick bore a remarkable resemblance to the William Towns Minissima

After reading this I now know why

+1 for liking the Ogle, especially when painted in Ice Blue

So the same guy designed that as the Aston Martin DBS, the Hustler kit car and the Aston Martin Lagonda.

So my hatred of these cars become clear,

I hate all cars designed by William Towns.

Being of a certain age I don't think that a kit car takes the cake of the ugliest mini derivative but would like to nominate not exactly a kit car but what I would describe as a stick on car, its BL's own clubman.
From the perspective of the original they were horrible with a sticky out nose for gods sake why? Your eye took in the nose and started along the bodyit was OK but you then fell off the end at the stub boot, it was a mini in a party mask. When they did the elves and hornets at least they finished the job and gave them a boot. I suppose the design budget was £70 and they spent £69 8s 6d on the front just enough left for some hideous trim. Got used to them over time but don't knock kit cars when the manufacturers can f..k something up as badly.
