Can't blame him for chancing his arm, but it does seem crazy to even ask that.

I thank I can get a set of those for somewhat less than that if anyone needs them.

I think it's the same guy who sold the Vortz? Rose Petals recently.

I suppose those seat brackets are going to be thin on the ground as most people didn't bother to cut them off when scrapping an early shell. I know I didn't about 20 years ago. Got loads of the (worthless) later ones of course.

But trying to fake a '59/60 shell is going to be tricky, what with the non-recessed screen apertures, so I can't see too many takers.

Not a Mk.1, apart from bootlid, but what do experts think about genuineness and originality on this one?

Doesn't have to be a Mk1 to be interesting, we're not fussy, we talk b*ll*x about anything!

The detailing and parts are a little all over the place on that Mk2 (even down to the Mk3 seats) but some genuine cars just get put together 'incorrectly', some 100% correct detailed cars though are built from fresh air so, your choice really. There's not much that can't be put right on that Mk2 for the right money (unless you want hydro which could be a problem), looks like the R/H tank breather tabs are there, original chassis plate, body looks pretty good and unusually for a Mk2 it's not got a bloomin great roof plaster on it!

I know someone selling a Tartan Red/Black Mk2 S if anyone's interested.

That was where we are, should of bought it before the previous previous owner sold it. Asked us to check it over for him. Remember how much he gave for it.

Good sponsorship deal there Rich

That truly has one of the worst interiors I've ever seen - I HATE checker-plate on anything other than it's real intention, which certainly isn't a car interior

Not much "1966" about it either is there!

Oh, he does say it has been "extensively updated" so that explains it then ;)

Hmm, not sure what you mean exactly. Looks like a standard 1275GT speedo and pod.

I like this one better:
http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C657808
Still has the original seats and its early shell and bonnet with the stay on the right.

Definitely a better buy than the equivalent Cooper (in my opinion)...

I know having a 'wood'interior was all the rage once but a wooden crossmember???
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1978-LEYLAND- ... 1726032220

The metal moths have certainly got at this one:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CLASSIC-MK1-M ... 1726032220

Early-ish Clubman, probably a round tunnel one at that age:

This one doesn't look so bad. I like the wooden battery 'clamp'....
