Surely that's the Bluecoat Chambers in Liverpool, the Mini nearest the camera appears to have a Liverpool Registration ending in LV.
I'd agree that that is Liverpool:

Nope......, don't agree. That can't be Liverpool. For a start, all the windows are intact, no graffiti, cash machine still in place on left hand side.............

703MWL photo is on the green, at Clifton Hampden Lots of Morris and MG's were photographed there

That Beatnick looks like the motoring writer Michael Frostick, who presented Wheelbase on the BBC.

The hairs a bit thinner but the nose is the give away.

Here's a spot of video from 1970ish featuring some beach Buggies were I snipped the picture from

Who wouldn't love a pre facelift 2.5Pi Triumph? What a cracking thing they must have been, especially in white with those funky stainless wheel trims.

Definitely Get Carter, filmed in the Summer of '70, released in March '71 ;)

Two different Mk2 Jags were used in this scene...

In the scenes where Caine is seen driving the MkII Cortina he's being pushed into shot by some of the film crew, he didn't passed his driving test until about 1973.

Yep. It' sthe old Trinity Square multistorey that was in Gateshead.

Great website showing all the locations of the film here.

It is amazing how much has changed in the last 47 years even up here in the North. Very few of teh locations remain untouched, and many of the buildings and roads have been demolished and built over.
