Not a photo, but a 1974 episode of Z Cars featuring a rare Austin Mini base model in tweed grey, DKN546C.
At nine years old it was looking pretty ropey.

Nice original features to spot there, and note how well the door doesn't close fully - just like my 64 33K miler that's all original

Nice pics, I think the grey S may still exist in a poorly state in the SW, or at least a similar reg one does.

Isn't FCV Garry Dickens's car? It still looked pretty good last time I saw it

Indeed it is.
It's probably my favourite Cooper S and I was lucky enough to have a blast down the A358 and back in it not long after Steve Harris refreshed the engine. It's glorious.
I first saw it in Garry's showroom in 1981 as a spotty yoof along with a stunning original low mileage red/black Austin 1275S - I wonder where that is?

The one down there may well be a different car then folks. It has sat in a garage untouched for about 20 years. FCV is a Truro Cornwall reg.

Remember Silverstone 1999 very well...
Mk3 Cooper S Bronze Yellow.jpg
I drove down there in my El Paso Beige / Snowberry White Mk2 Cooper 'UWD 672G' and followed Paddy Hopkirk's old Works car 'LRX 827E' part of the way...

Silverstone 1999 - Mini 40
Did Miniworld's 'Bogus' ever turn up?
Also was wondering recently what became of their limeflower Clubman estate?

I think the stripped and recovered Bogus shell is now an autotest car here in N Ireland.
They also had a project rally car that totally disappeared after it was finished. The clubman estate idk about either.

NGY742L - last V5 issued in 1995, probably exported or in a collection somewhere?

Is that definitely Mini 40 and not 35? Bogus was long gone by 1999 and seems odd Rovers stand having Monte edition Cooper and Lamm cabriolet?

I would guess it is Mini 35 in 1994.

Apparently this was a traditional 'Banging Out' initiation ceremony usually of print trade apprentices in the 1960/70's who had finished their training. The period picture is a screenshot taken from a short film which was featured on Talking Pictures TV excellent series 'The Footage Detectives' and I have included it here because there is a 'period' modified Mini in the background!
