But then again - look at it now. It's knackered. If you had a scrap of canvas that used to be a Van Gogh, it's not easy to reach full market value.

Cynical as it may sound I wouldn't have thought that any Banksy artwork would have been knowingly left outside for most of the paint to seemingly wash off. I suspect the link may be a little tenous?

If you take a look at the numerous web pages featuring the 2008 Cans Festival not one picture of that Mini appears. My guess it was outside the tunnel that was used for the festival and passers by got to chuck poster paints over it, hence why the colour has washed off now.

It's not a cast neck, but odd that the badge plinth has never been drilled?

I've had lots of HRG's over the years and most of them never had the badge holes or badges on them. Think it's only three I've had with badges/holes. I think I saw a original advert from HRG with one on but then another company in the day without them on.

as I have pointed out before

HRG did the covers drilled with badges on that they sold as there own

they also sold them undrilled & unpainted, presumably to sell to other companies to sell on to retail customers.
