Anyone know what that force is, with the identifier OB? Birmingham? Incidentally, a picture clear enough to show an ancient AC alternator, the oil cooler but NO bonnet landing platform brace. 4.5" wheels(?) looking at the offset.

Brum.

It might even be from a block of Longbridge numbers.

As for XLV124J, it's dead and buried but XLV123J is a Cooper S last taxed in '89.

I'm sure the V5 will be reissued soon.

I've been surfing and researching the net today and have come up with this. My 1965 Austin Mini Cooper S was delivered to them in May 1965 and converted by Harold Radford as Mini de Ville GT (hatchback) and first registered in January 1966. A tale of 2 registration numbers - 1966, 1974 & back to 1966 in January 2015. Still trying to find the owners between January 1966 and December 1971 - Guilford to Colchester - 4 owners?

Not sure - the bonnet badge is a Morris but the grille is an Austin Cooper...!

It could be couldn't it. The rear seat is Cooper and although the bonnet badge is a Morris one, I reckon it is probably a Cooper type which is slightly less wide. If the film was made in 1964, the car wouldn't have been terribly old and probably hadn't been messed about with TOO much?

Yes could be - the Austin Cooper grille has visible vertical slats behind, can't see any on this one. Body colour looks pale so possibly smoke grey or tweed grey...?

Meanwhile, here's Mike Yarwood in a Mini....

Dont go blaming Tickford....
Perhaps a stylist may own up, but ultimately some clown signed off the cost to own it!

In my day in Newport we would have sorted out the bonnet shut lines for sure! (pure mini...)

Just found a carrier bag in my loft full of the car brochures I picked up as a youngster at the 1967, '68, '69 and '70 Earls Court Motor Shows...my older brother was in the motor trade and used to get free tickets and took me along every year. I remember being impressed by the shiny Mk2 Mini improvements and later the BL Mk3 and 1275GT launch. Also remember getting told off by a salesman on the Jaguar stand for taking an E-Type brochure which put me off ever owning any kind of Jag!

I will keep the Mini brochures for now but all the rest really need to go on ebay or maybe sold to a dealer like Pooks?
