Can anyone identify this saloon car? Is it an Austin Somerset?

I reckon so too. They were built from 1952 - 1954 and were a very popular car. My first car was an A40 Somerset. There was also a larger A70 Hereford which had the same styling and a 2.2litre engine from the Austin 16.

I used to work on the pumps at North Lane Garage in my youth. At the time they used to supply quite a few LHD export models. I remember a Triumph Spitfire and an MGB in that showroom both destined for Argentina. Bought by foreign students at Leeds University and used here initially before been taken back home. My Mother rented a lockup to the guy with the Spitfire.
Lovely art deco type building.
