I did wonder if it was my super high compression and not the best sealing rings etc, pressurizing the system a bit
, but it doesnt breathe that heavily through the catch tank, but the new oil does leak from the gearbox better

I remember that car being for sale (for under £10,000!) a few years ago - in Bicester Oxfordshire if I recall correctly. I don't think the seller claimed then that it WAS a Wood & Pickett. It was the same colour as now and I remember it because I also had an ABW***F registration. Mine was an "age related" re-reg so I'm guessing that is too. ABW is an Oxfordshire issue.
Personally, I'm not so keen on Minis with no roof seam but each to their own..... It's a rather more serious price bracket now isn't it

I remember it as well. the de-seaming put me off. By the looks of the pictures it might have had a bit of a repaint since I saw it.

I'd say it's had some work done going by the 7th picture.

Agree - Wood & Pickett never cut off the gutter above the doors.
The only item that looks like it comes from W&P are the wheel arches, but simple post order items dont make a car "coachbuilt"

Me neither! That Austin looks like a lovely car to rag around and enjoy. Now, where did I leave my larger, fuller piggy bank...

The price of originality???
I'm sure it would cost a lot less to put that North American car back to "original" spec than restore that Island Blue car.
