Thanks for your kind comments will and mark rolls . I wondered what sort of comments this would attract . I sold the said Cooper S to JD classics last week . I spent 4 years restoring 2 minis . This is one of them . The other is a mk2 Cooper witch should be at bulee next week . I've modified the Cooper to my own taste and because of the Cooper S police I enjoyed restoring the Cooper so much more . Simon has commented it looks a nice car but not 100% correct . Simon I wasn't trying to get it 100% correct . As far as I'm concerned you can pick holes in any car if you really want to . I carried out all the work myself , and I mean everything . I panelled it up . Painted it , built the engine and box and I'm quite proud of the fact that a company like JD classics would include it in there multi million pound inventory . As for the price would you all be shocked to know that they paid me a price not to far off the asking price . Now I know that no one has slagged off the work I undertook on it and it's a public forum and people are entitled to post there own views but I haven't committed a crime here ! ....yes agreed it's a lot of money , they can mark it up for 75 grand if they want . That out of my hands ...... Anyway I've a thick skin so post away ..... Has "in the shed " posted yet , he hates this sort of stuff  .... Is there such a thing as the mk2 Cooper police because there gonna hate my mk2 at bullee ... Anyway laughing all the way to the bank ... Ken

Congratulation to you Ken,

I knew you talked a good car, now I know that you can walk the walk as well as talk the talk!

The car looks great & of course anyone wants what they can get from a car when they sell it, it's perfectly natural.

I hate the idea of any Mini being worth telephone numbers, but you can be as sure as hell, when it comes to selling any of my cars I won't be giving them away

I just hope that you have managed to keep some little project for yourself!

Would love to see some pics of your Cooper.

M

No I don't work at JD classics , in fact I don't work at all for a living . I retired at 46 and spend my time restoring minis .... Mark I have kept a little project for myself , it's my mark 2 Cooper , but would add that if I'm offered the right money for it then it's going to go  .

Ah just wondered - my wife's uncle works there and I know that locally there's a guy who work for/did work for JD's that did his own Minis. Think one of his cars was featured in Mini World a while back.

Will Grant wrote:Money, but its good, i saw it during build. Very neat work.

From my experience with the minis there are very few really 'concours' quality vehicles - objectively concours, not mini scene concours, to get a comparable car WRT price. Surely its got to be apples with apples.

Arguably good value with a project S at 30k anyway? Without a time premium as well. If you want an as new example, which to be fair, lots of people do.
I think Will's post nails it really. There's restored and then there's WOW!

Rich I've had to take off the rocker cover you made . The Titan roller rockers have hit the internal walls of the cover and the cap pisses out oil through the top . ..... Ken
