Re: 1275 GT thread
Are they not just a taper seat nut rather than the radius seat (which was standard on the 10" wheel Minis)?
Such as the CN2 or CN5 from Minispares.

Re: 1275 GT thread
Hi I am looking for my first mini 1275 GT, I have tried a lot of places and I wanted to try on here to see if anyone owns it or knows who does own it.
I sold it 7/8 years ago. The mini is currently SORN and the last MOT was carried out in 2014.
I know it’s still around though as the V5C was renewed in July 2021.
The registration is JVW 530V. It won’t let me attach a photo unforgivably .
Fingers crossed!

Re: 1275 GT thread
This is my mum's GT, built from a new shell by my dad around 74/75.
She used it to compete in all of the big national and international rallies back in Ireland across the late 70s and early 80s, before we moved to England in the mid 80s.
It was also her daily driver, so was my transport to school - straight through centre exit exhaust meant I could tell it was nearing home-time when she drove through the gates
It was sold when we left NI and used as a competition car, but the thread goes cold after that as, I assume, it was scrapped. Would love to find it / make a replica of it and go rallying again....

Hello Steve
I showed that pic once to Oral Worthington and he told me he used to service it on rallies but couldn't remember where it went

Hey - thanks for the reply....wantafaster1 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 16, 2021 7:47 pm Hello Steve

Oral is a very familiar name - I'm pretty sure he and my dad were the spanners on the car while mum and her friend were the driver / co-driver.
After us it went to a guy who used it in the NI Hillclimb championship (and painted it Red with a White Roof ). After that the trail goes cold. DVLA dropped it off their records a number of years ago, so can't even reclaim the number plate. Hey ho - good memories nonetheless...

Re: 1275 GT thread
Here's a pic of my old 1275gt I had in the late 90's. Black tulip, geranium interior.
I changed many of the original parts at the time like rostyles for 6x10 GB's and I swapped the orange-red plastic/vinyl GT interior for a red leather elf/hornet. It seemed like a good idea at the time, I remember cutting out the boot board brackets as they were a little rusty and got in the way when slinging stuff into the boot. The cars had very little value then.
The car went to Florida more than 20 years ago.

Re: 1275 GT thread
I’m on the hunt for one of these front spoilers. I know you can buy a copy, but I’d love a proper one... does anyone know of one for sale?
