EBW...J is an, Oxfordshire (including Old North Berks after 1974) replacement number. An MOT in Harwell might locate where the keeper lives. The DVLA Enquiry shows the car as Black. Last V5 issued in 2012 and currently taxed, so surprising it is not known.

Hi everyone.
My father has not long purchased what we think is an ex Merseyside / Liverpool Police Car - Mk1 Cooper S 1966 - 67. We are trying to find out more history about the car and I was hoping one of you knowledgeable guys on this forum might be able to shed a bit more light.
What we know is the car has been re-shelled at some point in it's life and isn't on the original registration. We believe the registration was one of 27 cars used by Merseyside Police starting KKD 4**. The car now has a Downton Tuned Engine and Straight Cut gearbox. It has only the single gas cap on the left had side.
The current registration is: EFE 147D
The chassis number is: C-A2S7 - 932599
And the engine number is: 9F/Sa/Y 43702
Any information which can be shared would be gratefully appreciated.
Many thanks.
Brian

I can't help with the original number but Heritage might be able to throw some light on it if you give them the numbers that you have and the KKD number batch.
As a rule, the DVLA/C are quite strict about making sure that the suffix letter - D in this case - accurately reflects the year of registration. (not strictly correct as a private number can reflect an OLDER suffix letter but not a NEWER one.

I had two of those old Winkworth bells from an ex Hampshire Triumph 2000. Sold one of them to the restorer of an ex Bomb Disposal Morris traveller!

hi
the mini was a revolution here in nsw as the police station sergent could travel in style not in a side car as most were big boys the side car was always struggling and the mini was drier also and easier to controll
cheers roger mcnab
