Mark get Adam to have a word !!

Don't you worry, I will

not sure yet if i'm brave enough to let him have a run at Blyton in the "60"

My trick was to plonk Adam into the drivers seat of the Wolseley at the practice day at Harewood and say "fill your boots". 2 spins on the first attempt, then 4 seconds quicker each run. He ended the day in the 70's which was where he wanted to be.

Hooked ;)

Well deserved.

The white/white with black wheels works fantastically well.
Makes black roofed cars look shit in comparison.

Yep just about made it again ! , bloody work keeps getting in the way ! Oh and Binis !!

Be interesting to see how it goes with new head on it, not as bigger valves as last time but nicely ported and back to 11 stud , won't get chance for rolling road, it seems ok to MOT and back !

So to keep my page up to date ;

Blyton 2017, cracking event once again, gotta be the best yet, and the cars are getting so much faster !
33561803934_7479504d78_z.jpg

KEC behaved impeccably, and the day was fabulous, new Cylinder Head proved very successful, as quick as its ever been, smoother, more low down power, and ran cooler, just maybe runs outa revs at about 6400, but power all the way, first proper long run with the rear anti roll bar other than the short hillclimbs and what an improvement, transformed the car from last year, i messed around on the first couple of runs just trying to oversteer and understeer the car to find the biting points and to find out what was quicker 2nd or 3rd on some of the corners, but the car pulled so well from low down it didnt seem to effect my exit speed

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O60Nji8ZKes

so as the day wore on I used 3rd more to save the stress on the engine and box

This was probably my best run :

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=drfa2fidTeA&t=19s

I think the look on me and my lads face at the end of the run above sums up the whole event !, thats why we do it !!

last run on my own, stopped for a while as GeorgeA brought out the red flag at the chicane !

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8TGcj6cAzK8&t=17s

missed 3rd gear a couple of times, bit of a long standing thing, could still be me mind !, so ill have the stick out and have a look, bit of usual play in front hubs, oil change and ......

next event Harewood on the 3rd June, Big Mk1 Forum turnout, one not to miss !!

Your car looked immaculate, I'm glad it went well.

I had the steering wheel off your lad, the boss is for a Renault R21!! I can't imagine a wooden wheel in a Renault box.

Maybe a case of mistaken identity jethro, we didn't sell anything at Blyton, the only wheel he would be interested in would be from a 2008 Cooper S !, he isn't converted totally!!

Glad you like the car

Good day at Harewood, for the Classic and Vintage Hillclimb, 18 Mini's / variants

viewtopic.php?f=4&t=18388&start=80

3rd in class, car ran well, but ran out of "puff" up the hill, just didn't rev as well as i'd hoped, perhaps a sticking carb damper or fuel problem, a full 10 mph slower than the 2 chaps that beat me, and several others behind me.

see if i can get a rolling road tune this week as I have my local Barbon Hillclimb this Saturday, and i haven't had it dyno'd since i put the fresh head on it.

but the car continues to be a joy, and the crack on these events is so good !

Had a trip to the rolling road yesterday, timing had slipped 4 degrees and the car was running weaker with the new head, couple of hours fettling, run out of time for a power run unfortunately, made a good improvement and it pulled better up to 6500 which was what It needed, see what its like up the hills !

it was Barbon Hillclimb on Saturday, and it chucked it down all day, drivers, marshals, cars all swimming in water !, oh apart from graemec, who had a warm, dry job in the timekeepers caravan !, the organisers and marshals did a cracking job keeping the event going until the paddock got that muddy cars got struck going in and out, so just the 3 runs all day, and an early finish

was unsure which class to enter, class 6A classic road going sports and saloon cars or 1A road modified up to 1400 cc, I decided to go for 1A, as i thought id be up first and finish the event first !

I was very happy to win the class, also finishing top Mini including the modified class, 8-) :D , 66 Cars finished (a few went home) and even managed 27th overall * updated results, still chuffed !
