I notice that the lady packing the boot of her mini, a few pictures up, has taken the very necessary precaution with all BMC cars and packed - a tow rope!

No, it was found along with many other cars at the bottom of a drained quarry.

This is such a great photo. It must be the yard at the Australian Enfield plant around 1975-78. The Enfield plant had been the location of Pressed Metal Corp, with the main BMC plant at Victoria Park (Zetland). By the mid '70's Leyland Australia was in serious decline. They'd had to shut Victoria Park, which in its heyday was one of the largest plants in the Southern Hemisphere, and had 'withdrawn' to Enfield which was much smaller and far less automated (no roto-dip, crude production lines). I'm pretty sure that the models visible in the picture were about all that they were still making at the time. Mini wound up in '78, Moke continued until 1982.
Cars were a lot more colourful in 1970's Australia than they are now!
