That QP is mega rare being one of just seven RHD examples built out of 779 made. All seven still exist, although one of them is currently a basket case awaiting a new (very brave) owner. Any idea when and where that pic was taken Stu...?

Laurence Harvey drove a LHD one in the 1965 film 'Life At The Top'...

Edit - just realised the pic is in Broadway ;)

Yes Broadway Hotel, Broadway. I would guess early 1970's. The Mini comes up on DVLA as Blue, not taxed since the late 1980's. Someone must have wanted the Cooper look but was on a budget.

December 22nd 1965, protest at Newport Pagnell Services as the 70mph speed limit is introduced. looks like a BARC badge on the grille.

1974 London Motorshow. I wonder what one of those ashtrays would fetch these days.

We've seen these well known 'pop art' photos before but here's some background to them : the pop art graphics were designed and applied by Danae Brook and the photos were taken in Carlyle Square, Chelsea on 24th March 1966 by Doreen Spooner, the car, a 997 Morris Cooper was for sale locally for £385 at the time...

Lovely old, even then, Bedford lorry, presumably a brewers dray. The breweries used to keep them for years and years, probably 25 years until they got rid of them. London Brick Company were the same.

Sorry it's not a mini related response to a nice picture. But Bedford lorries just wind my clock up. I wonder where my last one went...... Where are you Bedford QL 77 YC 16

I like old commercials and have spotted a few on my travels, particularly at work - next to the Midland Mainline just south of Flitwick station there's a farm yard with the cab of a '40s / '50s AEC Matador propped up against the barn, it looks like the left overs from a life sized Airfix kit ;)

Regent Street in the '70s with a nice Clubbie in what looks like 'Antelope' beige...

And a nice Hillman Super Minx estate dead ahead, just a couple of years younger than my father's, red, 679 TUR. All the breed reduced to piles of rusty scrap in short order; sad . . .
