The body on NME 57C was done by Martin Pacey in Grantham. I remember watching it being restored and took loads of photos of it in various stages of being built up as my own car EDV 32C was next on the jobs list for Martin to do. That was in 1996! Fantastic looking car!

"It is always difficult to say with certainty what is in a competition car (especially when its creator is no longer around to ask) but as far as we can deduce the following details are probably not too far from the mark."

Now THAT is a nicely worded piece of cataloguing!

That's the late Mike Cockayne's car, he did Shelsley with us in that car when I did the 'Cooper S 50' thing there a couple of years ago. Stu took some footage and put it up on Youtube.

And in auction terms I think it has what is known as a come and buy me estimate. (£17-£20k I think)

The word 'quality' covers such a wide range of conditions :?

If that sells, then I've got a non-rusty, but with a worn 1st gear, 22G232 for sale

Or another way of saying there isn't actually much very Cooper S there. :o
As the accompanying Heritage Certificate confirms, it was originally a 1275 S RHD Home Market specification with Almond Green paint and a white roof, a fresh-air heater, oil cooler, 4½ inch wheels and an extra fuel tank...... Somewhere along the way the Cooper S has changed its colour from Almond Green to Tartan Red, gained a full roll cage and lost some of its original interior.
As Q once said to James Bond "That's putting it mildly, 007!"

Yep, she's got a business head for a "fragile widow" hasn't she.
Certainly some serious parts for sale there. Better than any pension.

Not too many 62' minis left though. Having said that restoring it to concours might be a problem with panel availability.

Funny what constitutes a barn find these days. To me a barn find is an example that has seen little road time, spending most of its life Undercover (in a garage or such)
