The Death Star is situated at the Farnesina Palace in Rome. Originally the sculpture was part of the Italian Pavilion at 1967 Montreal EXPO and was created by Arnaldo Pomodoro
You know some stuff Stu!
Not a particularly brilliant photo this but I like it, took it at Stanford Hall a few years ago, Chris Evans lookalike Nick H of this parish regretting selling the Fiesta Yellow beauty...!

No, not really. I looked up Italian sculptors based in Milan, home of Innocenti, and got lucky.

Lived on the Wirral with the original restorer for a number of years and appeared on the Club Mini Classics stand at shows many times. Then moved on to another owner in the Club before Nick bought it!

Will Sparrow photos are not the 72 Welsh. Almost certainly the 72 Tour of Dean at start at Aust Services at Severn Bridge. What was the source of the caption? (because it's not the first time it's come up).

Just todays value of some of the number plates we see on the old car photos here is amazing. 5122 ME for example - for Michael Edwardes, the mad axe-man of Leyland.
Sandra Howard (shown above and still delicious today.....) contacted me some years ago following a newspaper thread to tell me that the girl on the light blue Cooper and S brochure wasn't another car-girl (Susan Carpenter) of the era but her friend, Mary Burrows

I think you are right because Will Sparrows number on the '72 Welsh was 4

That building is the Chelsea Drugstore from the Stones number You Can't Always Get What You Want.
It's now a McDonalds, so I guess it still applies!

I know I'm right, as I was in the scrutineering queue on the 72 Welsh just behind Sparrow, where we both had a row with the dictatorial scrutineer over the legality of the "works" type 4 lamp bar. I was also on the 72 Tour of Dean.

Found this shot of Tottenham Court Road in the '70s, was not sure if to post here or in the '70s mods thread as it has the obligatory 'glass Clubman front.
