These 65 visor clips on ebay don't look like the original side ones on my 65 mini . They look to me like the repro ones same as ford bonnet stay clips .the correct ones are Y shaped

Just don't understand it
If his race car doesn't need a v5 ,why not build it with a old mk1 .sell the complete S to fund it , all legal
Can't be because its got to be a real S as with no v5 it just a load of S parts?
And surely it can't sell for £10.000

The makings of another cloned Mini Cooper S?
Why with so many knowledgeable people in the Mini world has this not been sorted? Trigger’s broom was more original it only had 17 new heads and 12 new shafts.
I did research with my daughter 10 years ago which back then showed a large percentage of existing Cooper S cars are rebuilds or replicas with a small number of cars being genuine and original with history to support same.
This V5c sale will result in another genuine standard Mk1 Mini being lost and converted into a Cooper S replica. We all know a Heritage Certificate relating to the V5C means nothing. An original genuine car should and most always will have a comprehensive file to prove it is the genuine article.
Better having a rough genuine car than a mint fake one I think.

Stuart,
You are right, I dread to think. The problem with these fakes is they catch out genuine decent people who once they have parted with their hard earned money there are no redress.
I have always operated a reliable straightforward policy in that the car must please me in every respect before I buy and even think of selling. Being truthful and honest has worked for me.
Funny thing too, I love cars with history, it makes them a living part of history.

The selling of vehicle identities on ebay is disgusting. The sellers doing it often disguise the identity, because they know that they will be reported.
You can buy an identity, steal my car, mix the two up and then drive around without recourse.
This facilitates crime.

I really don't think the dvla care or can be bothered or afford to do anything about it . Same as the police , they will say a crime hasn't been committed until a stolen car is involved . Then you've got to prove it . What's the saying , possession is 9 tenths of the law ..... Ken

Ebay certainly couldn't care less (despite what they say officially), so long as the cash continues to pour into their pockets. Lawd knows how many businesses run on there also without paying a penny in tax.

I'm not sure about the latest one, but there were some pretty serious threats on the back of the old blue V5s. "It's our property and if you use it for any other purpose than having it in your drawer, or giving it back to us when you sell a car, there is up to a £10k fine and 2 years in prison".
I am of the opinion that normal "nice" people have stopped obeying the letter of the law. The more I talk to people (out and about with work) the more I realise quite moderate levels of crime are being committed by most people. We are talking granny growing a bit of weed in her greenhouse, Mr Parkinson the churchwarden running heating oil in his volvo, people driving back from the pub pissed, smuggled fags, etc, etc, etc, etc. I suppose it's a reaction to the way our glorious leaders behave.
