Be quick if you want to be different this summer

PS that GT looks great, but why would you mate a balanced 1300 engine to an auto box.

I don't know but that's the second time we've seen an auto ordered on a 1275 from Downton in recent weeks. I drove an auto Mini yesterday, semi auto really aren 't they, really enjoyed it actually.

Getting an auto box to work on a mildly tuned GT is probably a far better bet than on a full race 1275 S :)

People always pay too much for stuff on ebay. There are some bloody fools. I'd never pay anything like that for that, moan moan moan.

Folks, I have had some bad fortune and as a result, the sheds have got to be cleared.

It's been good and someone was going to whack this up and have a good old "Well that's a load of sh t". It may be a load of metal, but it's actually the dream which goes with it which very much goes against the grain :(

These are quite desirable as aftermarket accessories here. They were typically fitted to the earlier cars, once they switched to wind up windows they become much more troublesome to fit.

The seller must have a whole box full of NOS ones. He's been drip feeding them onto the market every ten days or so for the last couple of months. My Traveller has a pair, but they are a bit tired looking, I'd like a new set but the price is a bit hard to justify.

So sorry to hear that Stu. But there are times when we have to make these difficult decisions aren't there! I know that only too well myself.

I hope that the shed clearing brings a massive amount of ebay funds for you.

Your blue car looks absolutely fantastic! Just my sort of car, shame I'm not in a buying phase at the moment.

Good luck mate.

Wow! £25 for 12 months tax ,
If £25 was a good weeks wages , today say £400 . That's £400 to tax in today's money , my 1.2 curtisy car costs £30 , may be not so good old days then!

Interesting letter, good think to keep, well done Mam, £25.00 road tax may have been expensive by today's rates but the roads were better surfaced, quieter with fewer speed restrictions. Good old days, yes, good cars, good motor bikes and good music everything people want to pay a fortune for today :D John

Cheers Mark.

I will be back, but it will be with a fat wallet, paying top dollar, like everyone else.

The less than hilarious insult to things was when I rolled into the police station to see what had been recovered from the "scene" of the burning, I got "bad cop" put it to me I had torched my own car. Proper intimidation techniques. Not very nice.

It's not the van I need replaced, it's what was on board and not insured.

It's not a cooper S, nor did it have Paul McCartney as an owner, but it's a very good car.

I don't think people really estimate how bloody hard it is to get a business off the ground without selling the family silver, or running the debt gauntlet (which I refuse to do). Big contract in the pipes, need money now, got to sell. Hopefully they do it justice. Ideally, I'd like it to go to Rich.....who can then give me a ride in it!

Please DO NOT discuss the above ebay auction!

The car & it's seller have been mentioned on here before & it has caused much trouble. I wish to avoid a repeat performance.

Thank you!
