I know the S was wet until 71…..but really thought the Cooper went dry. ( almost punny…but not)

I had 2 H plate Cooper mk2's and both were wet.
Still got one of them.

WW was West riding of Yorkshire , Wakefield, How i know is I Registered a Mini Jem in in 1969 , We came under the West Riding of Yorkshire, Though i lived at Maltby,We came under Wakefield for our Vehicle tax, The Reg was XWW

I think Sheffield was W WA WB WE WJ, I worked there for a few years in the 70s,went back a couple of weeks ago to a funeral and could not believe how it's changed, the roads are not maintained I wouldn't like to drive round with alloy rims and low profile tyres, I could list a few more things but don't want upset the politically correct but it was like driving through a third world country full of third world people.

you are right about the reg number Wakefield was HL, We came under the West Riding, We all had to tax our cars at St Johns North Wakefield and as i said i reg a car on a new plate in 1969 ,It came back as XWW, In fact i think i still have the accompanying letter telling me the number was assigned to the the car, So i guess Wakefield were just agents for Leeds ???????????????????????, Interesting.
