Caveat emptor, and all that…
Nice. An 850 Mini minus it's log book and a handful of 997 bits. Ring a ding ding.

And this was written for what reason? PAV of £6k, so even if it cost £3k to renew the carpets it's viable. And we wonder why insurance is so expensive. Morons

easy..

sewage water / grey water

writes a car of instantly................................

insurance companies just don't want to get involved in the cleaning / rebuilding of cars that have been contaminated like this due to future liabilites

If its anything like the modern cars we've had off copart don't expect any history or spare keys as these always get lost or binned
At £4250 you will pay aprox £4550 with costs , with presumably some work to do , and worth 20% less as cat D , it doesn't look like a bargain at any more than the current bid , when the PAV is only £6000

I doubt it was written off just because the carpets were damp. Having experienced a major flood myself and chosen to repair one car afterwards I can give you a quick list off the top of my head of just some of the parts which failed due to the subsequent water damage: Gearbox, (engine just escaped), clutch, steering rack, wheel bearings, heater motor and switch, dynamo, starter motor, fuel pump, dipswitch....... This on top of all seats, seatbelts, carpets and interior trim........ Starting to add up now isn't it

A lot of flooded cars are written off then pressure washed and dried out prior to auction. Easy to do and they'll look fine. You'd really want to know exactly how high the water level reached on any flooded car before you considered bidding on it.
As Rich says above, serious floodwater ain't just water........

Over the years I've had many a great result and good earners from water damaged salvage . After all it's "just had a wash " . Apart from the obvious cleaning out of the fuel tank , fuel lines etc , the worst thing that can happen is if some idiot decides to try and turn the engine over with the plugs in . You can't compress water , so you end up with bent valves , con rods . It's the luck of the draw on that one ...... Ken

I saw some wheels which looked identical to that just the other day - they were fitted to an old trailer!

£4,000 f****** quid!!! :o

Ring a ding ding indeed… (Although I wouldn't mind those C panel trims from it, they're what I need for my late '64 SDL)
