I remember that "Harold Radford, Taurus/Downton / everything but the kitchen sink" tuning / customising ad! I nearly pi55ed myself laughing at the time.

Talk about nicking every name worth pinching in one fell swoop!

As far as I know, that was the only advert they ever produced before disappearing without a trace.

I like the sound of their 'invisible roll cage'!

In fact, I've just found a few. I think I'll pop them on Ebay at £1000 each.

Damn, I'll even do free postage (I'm good like that!)

I can understand there being hardly any of Lennon's cos he didn't like driving so I suspect it sat in his garage alot.
I wonder if Ringo found any of his Mini photos in this lot below? ...."Ringo unearthed boxes of negatives dating back to the 1960s."

Ringo Starr Stored Beatles Memorabilia Inside Self-Storage Units - September 21, 2015
“It started with me looking at storage units we have all around the world it seems. … We found we had so much stuff,” Ringo told the Associated Press over the phone from his apartment in London.
“A lot of it we haven’t seen in 20 to 30 years,” Ringo told the AP. In fact, while working on his book Photograph, which Rolling Stone says “features charming shots of the Beatles lounging and goofing off,” Ringo unearthed boxes of negatives dating back to the 1960s.
“We thought, ‘What are we going to do with all this stuff?’” Ringo told the AP. “We’re fed up with having the stuff in storage when it could be put to some good use and also give a lot of people joy.”
That’s when Ringo and Barbara turned to Julien’s Auctions......over 800 relics from Ringo Starr and his wife Barbara at the Property from The Collection of Ringo Starr and Barbara Bach auction from December 4th to 5th in Beverly Hills, California.

I love the Beatles music as much as the next bloke, but I am sorry, every time I see Ringo Star on telly or hear him on radio, I can't help but feel I have just been exposed to one of the least sincere people on the planet. Love & Peace, Love & Peace.

BULLSHIT!

No, it's definitely Ringo's own car - George's psychedelic car can be seen parked next it in the photo, it was taken outside George's bungalow in '68 along with a few others while the lads were making demos for the White Album, George's car was black when it left Radford's in '66 and the fancy paint job was done in '67 ;)

Pete Best who of course was replaced by Ringo, has some interesting stories from his early days with the Beatles......

Catalogues here

http://www.juliensauctions.com/auctions ... -list.html

Some seriously tacky stuff, but some real gems to be found, especially the gifted Marc Bolan Gibson Les Paul. The career of Ringo catalogue has some good '60s Beatle memorabilia in it. Loads of old gold records and promo stuff. No old pictures of cars though.
The other catalogue has is mainly furniture, art works and jewellery of a personal nature.

After subjecting myself to that I'm off to listen to Paint it Black and As Tears Go By!

Ringo's 'Ludwig' drum kit in the auction catalogue below (pages 44-47) would make a very nice addition for the current owner of his Mini to display the hatchback conversion at shows......guide price $300,000 -500,000! 8-)

 There'll be ALOT of interest in that, I could see Dave Grohl or someone like that buying it. I had a cheap crap Japanese version of that when I was a kid that kept falling to bits and had a habit of wandering around the floor whilst playing,

Oil thermostat, so the oil cooler is put into circuit only when the oil is hot enough.

It is indeed Jim's old car, and was on display at Goodwood in September.

The online lookup of the cars status has made me smile. It took a very, very long time, lots of legwork, and huge patience to get the details retrieved from microfiche and put on the DVLA system to enable it !
Three months ago it would have shown a blank.
