I'm voting for 1975. One of the P6s is in "Avocado" (a sort of sicky green) which was only available around that time from what I remember. (Our business sold quite a few P6 Rovers at the time).

That Advocado colour was often seen with a splendid almost bright orange velour interior, although the in Petes picture looks like the more restrained magnolia leather option.

Here's the velour in all it's splendour

It also made it to the SD1

Just go's to show that car designers did far too much LSD in the late 60's. It took 25 years for them to recover!

That's my pal Jon's '78 SD1 2600, I've driven it several times and it's surprising how much torque it has, he's recently done a photo shoot for Classic & Sportscar mag which should appear soon....

Couldn't resist a comparison shot with my old 1970 P5B Coupe....

The motor show pic is probably Earls Court 1976 - you can see the silver Lotus Esprit in the background and 1976 was its first UK motor show. The P6 Rover 2200 remained in production until 1977 when it and the Triumph 2000/2500 were replaced by the 2300/2600 SD1.

That green one is glorious but they never had BL wing badges. Like Jaguar, Rover resisted all attempts to stick the plughole logo on.

This beautiful little prototype in not so widely known:

It is a Royale RP4, mostly fitted with small Ford engines of 1000 or 1300 cc.

One of our local racers in the 70s had one of these for the 1300cc class.

Somewhere in France, probably near Le Mans in June 1963.
