Great to see............... Just make sure that you look after the insides of those sills now. Just flood them front to rear with stick like 5hIt to a blanket, Supertrrol-001 with good vapourising ability and capillary action.

Inside prepped for top coat today. Really pleased with how good the original floors look. Nice to see the two FE numbers still in place on the floor pans.

Inside painted today. The idea is to keep the 54 years of history and patina with the car and so the repairs have been blended with the original paint as much as possible. Sills have been sealed, stonechipped and primed ready for top coat hopefully tomorrow. Really pleased with the result.

Looking good Tim. 8-)

Conserving DPU is a far better plan than a full restoration, she looks far too good to fully restore.

Interesting that there are no grommets in the front floor pans - they do seem very random in the number of, and placement of, floor grommets.

Never noticed the lack of grommets Andrew, well spotted! The rear floor has none either!

Looking very good and will last a good few years again now.
My 1962 deluxe has no floor grommets either, something I found strange when restoring it, but floor were all original so defo left factory that way.

It really does appear to be random weather or not there are grommets fitted to the floors. Here is the original floor on my shell, you can just make out the F number. The inner sill has been replaced on it though.

Sills now looking great with their fresh coat of Tweed Grey. Not shiny and dulled to perfection! Blended in really well.

Collected the Cosmics today and they look absolutely fantastic! I didn’t want them to look bling so they’ve been given a matt clearcoat.

Took the Cosmics to have the tyres fitted today. Tyres are classic Michelin and are in perfect condition with no cracks. I won’t be breaking any speed records so they will be perfect until the Blockleys appear.

Those do look great but there's no way I'd be doing any real driving on Michelins of that age. Keep a very close eye on them and ditch them at the first sign of trouble. I bet the rubber is as hard as iron and wet grip will be terrible

Whilst DPU is still up in the air I tried the restored Cosmics on today. Really pleased with how they look and colour wise they’re perfect with the Tweed. Looking forward to getting it back in the next couple of weeks.
