I have a Speedwell 5 port alloy head. It was running when I removed the power unit to restore an early 997 Cooper. I have not removed it from the engine yet. I have located a 295 head which I plan to run on the car. In fact I found 3 295s buying junk 1100 units. One has fresh guides, O/S intake and exhaust valves and measures .100 thinner than the uncut ones. I plan to work the exhaust ports and fit it to my 66 UK Moke. I'm building the first 850s I have done since the late 60s. They cost just as much to machine and any other and parts are getting hard to find. I have one 998 crank I have machined the counter weights to fit it into a 850 block. With 998 rods and pistons this opens some options. Steve (CTR)
