Some Mk3's did have the small hub caps with a separate chrome ring, which was actually very flimsy anodised aluminium, rather like those on the clubman, & opening rear side windows. At the time of the introduction of the Mk3, I worked at a British Leyland dealers, but I can't actually remember the difference in the dashboard between the standard & SDL models. (I spent most of my time underneath them doing pre-delivery checks) Many if not all the automatic versions were in SDL trim.

Come to think of it i think it did have the 2 piece hub caps and im pretty sure it had recling front seats - wasnt long before they were chucked out tho and replaced with 100+ alloys and Corbeaus

and 25 years later im looking for hubcaps n recling front seats - lol

Early production Mini's did not have drip rails spot welded to the side roof gutters. The drip rail was introduced in approx May 1960.
The drip rail was deleted again around the changeover from Mk3 to Mk4 bodyshell (late '76?). The changes are not always clear cut to an exact date as they were often phased in as old parts were used up at the factory.

Yup. My 75 mk3 had them and my mates 76 mk4 didnt - I remember always taking the piss that they forgot to weld them on..now i know they probably did forget to weld them on :lol:
