Mock fake mk1 hinges plus squeeky door
Enter the haunted mini if ye dare lol, quite a creepy squeek

Looks pretty good though, i bet they really were a ball-ache to fit ;)

Cheers JC, its a JK straight cut close ratio box, straight cut drops, quaife atb diff and straight cut crown wheel and pinion, running a jk quick shift too which is interesting the box howls and a LOVE it. The mrs doesn't haha

He he I bet ;) but its such a nice sound 8-)

I run a JKD 5 speed on my "normal" Green Mini, its a std helical, with 3.1 diff, so its very smooth on the motorway.
Last year I bought a JKD Dogbox for my "toy" the White Hillclimb Mini, it has some kind of strightbox in it now, but the ratios are not close enough,
the drop gears are the ones with big roller bearing on the center wheel, and low ratio,
it also has semi straight final, with a LSD, and a remade gearchange with JKD shift.

thought id add a photo of the bonnet fitted

Still quite a bit to do, got to take it for a mot, trying to find a nice dry spell as its a pain having to clean the dam thing.. just need to plumb in my washer bottle (a nice desmo one) and a interior mirror. im also going to change my windows at some point for some innocenti style ones with fixed quarters, i also have the stainless tops to put on which are a bit cooper esque.. hopefully it will make the windows look a bit more ages related, more of a old upgrade?

iv also had it on the rolling road to get the fueling right, not reved it up much as its not run in but it looked very capable on the rollers wanting to jump off at 4 and a bit :D.. also had a cheeky raz up and down the road to sort my brakes out too, trying to key the brake in a bit, as it appears to have to much at the rear with bias wound fully over to the front brakes on the pedal box, so iv fitted a inline fluid restrictor to see if i can get it just right.

I know what you mean--Black is a nice colour, but not easy to keep :roll: just wait for a summerday with lots of sun,
and then take it for a spin down the countryside ;)

I just bought 2 stainless Inno door surrounds for my car, they really do look nice on a Black car, so lets see yours on ;)

I dont know what kind of inline brake bais you bought? I put one on my Race Mini, and that did the trick, brakes very well now,
so I think yours will too, other wise check that you got the right brakecylenders?
there is a few to choose from, and you really dont want one with more than 16mm bore --good luck with it.

yeh cheers ted, id have prefered it to be a standard bonnet but i first started of with a grp kad one and i made the bulge but it looked naff, so i figured instead of trying to hide it make a feature of it! actually if you look at it from one angle it appears totally black and from another it matches the roof colour perfectly! im also looking forward to swoping the windows, i also have a mint pair of wood and pickett ones too with opening the opening quarters but i cant decide which to go for!? my mates sorted me out with a pair of inno ones with a broken piece of glass which where cheap so i guess its perfect so i dont need to butcher my wood and pickett ones but then again i do like the opening ones! haha.. i need to get some glass made for them which shouldnt be to much of a problem as i do quite a bit of work for a local glass company so if anybody else out there needs some contact me and i may be able to sort you out.. no idea on price at the mo!

Ted wong sorted me out (thanks ted) however i think the price would put most people off! haha i found the receipt the other day and i was shocked! with the exchange rate the came to about £180 hahaha, i must be daft! but i want to be as mk1 as possible.. in my eyes its money well spent

Yes they are fairly pricey but they do look very good, are they stuck on or bolted on ? any chance of a close up picture.

Well they didn't come with any instructions and I assumed they glued them on as there are no holses to bolt to. So on the slide part I drilled and counter sunk the holes and drilled and riv nutted the door skins then used counter sunk bolts to hold them on so they didn't effect the slide. I'm at work at the moment to I will try takes some pics of them tonight!

Chris, your car is absolutely gorgeous! :shock:
It made me think about a mobile catalogue for all the nice tuning/mod parts!
So, you have finally put the hinges on? How are doing that, is it hard? Can we have some close-up pics of the working mechanism? Why didn't I note the cost of them when buying for you, if yes, I should have stopped you!!! :lol:

36inter, it ticks over quite well really.. im running a 286 scatter cam so it evens it out a bit on tick over and it ticks over very well.. its weird though.. doent sound like a 5porter and has bags of torque has a little spot about 2500 rpm which proved to be a bit hard to iron out on the rollers but i think this was cammyness and the choice of 40's over 45's.. not really got anything to compare it to really as i think its the only one of these heads.. its not strickly an 8port when you put against weslake or arden but it certainly doesnt drive like a 5 porter.

On a bad note i found overspray from the roof under the lacquer.. so its back in bits at the mo having it sprayed again by a different painter! wished id found him first! o well at least there will be lots of paint on it haha you have to laugh otherwise you might cry! haha
