long time since i did much on a mini engine, so excuse my lack of super powers lol

But do i spy a single core plug on the end of the block below stabiliser, or is the rust hide the second one.

As far as i can remember 1275 engines all had double core plugs on this end of the block.

Lesser sized engines had a larger single core plug.

Looks like a worthwhile find though well done

S blocks only have one core plug below the engine stabilizer. 4 core plugs total.

1300 blocks with no tappet chest covers have 2 core plugs clutch side, 5 total.

Well i can put you out of your misery guys...looks like i bought a slightly interesting Turkey  , not a complete disaster however as i did get a pair of salvageable S disc assemblies, an S pulley and a 12g940 S head, but it looks like the block is a modified 1100, the head was seriously skimmed, the block pocketed and the piston crowns have half moon pockets in them as well to clear the big valves!, i will get some more pics up later if anyone is interested now i have the head off and the bores are visible.

A quickie guestimate; 1100, flattops with valve recesses, pockets, seriously skimmed 12G940 -> 13.5:1 compression ratio.
Probably a decent cam inside there somewhere
