Any of you folks got any decent photos of your timing strut? I'm just wondering where I am going to mount mine...

No pictures of it at the moment, but all I've done is extend the centre bumper mounting bolt and made the strut so it bolts up to that, then it's nice and simple, one nut and a washer and it's on / off. I've seen all sorts of set ups, using towing eye brackets, over riders that have mounting holes, and extended threaded bolts that go through the front subframe mounting ect ect

Mine used to bolt onto the grille with the grille button, I'll take a pic of it. I still use the same one on the Hornet but slightly more complex operation. We didn't use 'em at all at CPOP !

I'm running a MK1 1293 S, there's a good mix of S's, Coopers and Mini's, all at different spec's, one of the fastest MK1's is Pauls Island Blue car, some youtube in car footage of the car from last weekend here

Looks like fun. I did Clay once in my old Radical. It was so tight that I could only get around the hairpin by spinning up the back wheels, it didn't have enough lock to drive it.

Here's some ideas for you on fitting the timing strut.

This one uses the front subframe mount.

This has a plate that seams to be attached to the front vallence.

That looks like good fun, certainly quicker than a Mini ! (insert suitable Star Wars reference here)
