It fits just fine! It doesn't need to be adjusted, at all!

And its a LHD set 8-) well done.

Hi gents, thanks for all your comments.

It is in fact a great moment to work with the brand new shell, but it is still a complicated moment!

I like NOS items, but I won't pay ebay prices. I had time to wait on the perfect bargain!

What I really want is to keep the car as original as I can afford, and keeping the original smell.....

I haven't made many progress these days, I want to enjoy my restauration, as it will probabily be the last one!
And also, I went to the IMMM (International Mini Moke Meeting) in Germany. If you want to know more about this event, there will be soon pictures to come.

Here are the last pictures:

Hi glen

Filling the oilfilter with oil and also diconecting the oilpipe and
filling the oilpump via the outside may helps. Its a common problem when trying
to get oilpressure for the first time after rebuilding an engine.
I fill the oilpump with Torco engine lube and have always in 3 sec a super oil pressure.

Nice work!

Salutations fabian

Hi Anis,

I lended my car, for the winter, to a MINI Dealer....
From where the Mini Winter Rallye will start next saturday.
I would be pleased to meet you there!

I know it is such a shame, but there it is 20°C and not -5°c as it is in my workshop.

So she's now dropping oil on their black granit floor :o

I haven't had time to update my post recently... I've just finished my studies, and now looking for a job!

I still have a few problems... I have an autonomy of 1 liter of water per 4km. i don't really know where it comes from really...!
Probabily the old aluminium Speedwell Head....

I'll get her ready for the Beaulieu Cooper Day, I hope.

Here are a few picture of her, nearly finished (running, but not for long)

These are real Dunlops Aquajets ( a bit dangerous, just for the display)

I'm now waiting to buy some Rosepetals...

I hope you like it!

(I know, the smell is exactly what I was waiting for... )

To Fabian:

Thanks for your advices, I've tried it many times, without any results.

This is the first time it happened to me:

The little three slots spare on spider drive that links the pump to the camshaft was 2 mm too thick (?!?!).

So the oil pump wasn't fitting properly in its place. Hopefuly, I could find it, and solve the problem without taking the engin out! :o

I was really really upset!

Now that it is solved, I have to face the others problems!

Kind regards

Glen

I think it'll stay there until the middle of the month.

I'll have to get her ready for the spring!

You can always come at my workshop if you want to. I'm there every saturday.
