Yep the Yank Tanks had a field day as the rain held off , that lead Hadfield/Voyazides Falcon was a rocket !
Minis had a decent race to start with both Swift cars battling with Devereux and Burgess but as usually happens at Oulton they got spread out before too long. The Padmore car went well also. A couple of pics off the web...
Burgess....
Halstead/McPherson seemed to have some handling issues, looked very spongy through Cascades anyway.
Ward/Swifty
...wasn't this the car driven by Jumping Jeff at the '09 Revival ?
Devereux had a lonely race for the most part....
The Padmores....
Nice to bump into Stu who I'm sure took some nice shots.

Guess the newly imposed extra weigth for the Falcons didn't mean that much then...
Looks like the field was quite small although the number of Mini's were encouraging... hope this keeps up as I just got my entry for the Brands Hatch Masters race confirmed... along with the Donington Historic Festival.
Cant wait

It may be a trick of the light and I wouldn't want to be accused of sticking my nose in but car No 90 looks very high up in the seat - if the car rolled over how close would the top of the driver's helmet be from the top of the roll bar. Remember Mike Fry at Mallory in the 80s!!

Well you must have got an early night putting an App K Mini on pole at Donington !! OK, it was a sub 1600cc race but that's still some achievement Marc, congratulations !

Thanks very much Pete
- to say I was surprised was rather an under statement - OK it was pi$$ing down with rain, but if you look at the over 1600cc qualifying that was on a drying track - I would still have been on pole ? I think it helped that we had the wet race there in September last year
Bonkers !!!!!!
Lets just leave it at that and not dicuss how I was last by the Old Hairpin on the first lap

Never mind high in the seat looks high off the ground?

I didn't get the best start, consequently I was 4th coming out of Redgate, then entering Hollywood I got squeezed and was either hit by an Anglia (I meant IMP !) from the side or take to the grass, I might even have got a tap from behind ? It's very hard to tell as everything happened so quickly, I would be interested to see some pictures as I can't be sure what happened. Anyway I travelled backwards for a fair few yards then did the full 360 and re entered after the exit of Craner Curves Plumb Last

No. I have the copyright on that. My new enterprise:

I can confirm that you can't outbrake a class E Imp
Worse still, my camera played up so we can't all enjoy the fun

& here's a perfect view of my first lap disaster - can't really make out what happened - it was the imps not the Anglia !

I think it's a case of you can't check both mirrors at the same time ! Nice footage of Tim's (rear brake ?) lock up into the chicane there aswell, shame Tim as your 2nd attempt at that manoeuvre went very well !

Hooray for in car footage!
Strange edit where I got down the inside of him for the first time is not there
Second time ; I was so excited I didn't notice the yellows till too late and did at least do the correct thing
He really does'nt like to be overtaken! Seems to have plenty of torque ; look at how he keeps up with the Cortinas from the bottom of the old hairpin. I could'nt make anything on them from there
Hey Ho. Bring it on at Cadwell

Yes it looks like I was very much part of an Imp Sandwich !!!
Would have helped if hadn't positioned the car so bleedin poorly for the first corner and got such cack drive out of Redgate !
