Try running a temporary earth wire from one of the build holders to see if it is simply a bad earth???

Thanks for that, would that mean it’s the gauge that’s at fault then if no stabiliser fitted? Also does the little rocker light switch need to be connected for gauge lights to work?

Yes, having looked at top of speedometer there is a hole with a blackish jewel like thingy, so no voltage stabiliser fitted?
