……..funnily enough, my dad had no interest or ability concerning anything mechanical or engineering based. I however took every clock and appliance to bits as a kid, must of driven my parents mad

I'm sure my mother would have loved to know that I was not the only one that did this

I used to get the job, as a small lad, of going in to the pit to undo the engine mounts from below. A pit with water in the bottom and a dodgy lead light made for a tingle!! Father is 80 next year and still messing with minis, it must be in our genes.

I've just moved house last Friday and I now have a double garage and parking for at least 6 cars.
To work on a mini in a garage and be able to open the doors is a new thing for me.
I’m happy.

Just to add we had a last minute house move we had 2 days notice to finish packing, all hands on Friday morning not just a house to move but cars and a sheep trailer full of stuff (thanks JR for the McDonald’s breakfast and help) the house is a project with no hot water etc I was ok though I was only there on the Saturday we flew out to Portugal for 10 days early on the Sunday morning..back to it Wednesday afternoon.. the first job is replacing the garage roof I do like a project..

A house move and unmissable holiday alignment see to happen quite often in my experience !
