Agree with Mark that’s possibly a world record price for a standard Mk2 Cooper 998, and in today’s climate even more remarkable. They’d have probably struggled to get £20k on the open market, just shows you the power of publicity!

Mental money really, especially as no longer on Hydro .. like it or hate it, it should be hydro !!
Not quite standard with dry suspension and no where near as good as Ian's STG95F.

It'll end up like that Wheeler Dealers Mini, someone thinking that the "TV provenance " will turn it into an investment. At £30k I very much doubt they will see a return on it though.

The guy that bought it seemed very happy indeed and at the end of the day he has a very nice mini he can use and enjoy for years to come knowing everything has been done on it.
I have seen people buy absolute sheds for nearly £10k and another £20K wouldn`t fix them if you can`t do the work yourself so I always advise people to spend as much as they can to buy a car that someone else has spent all the time effort money and heartache on and the Bangers and Cash car certainly fits that criteria.
The chap that bought it is obviously an enthusiast and probably is a member of this excellent forum so I feel sorry for the poor chap not being able to confess to being the owner as it`s been ripped apart so badly.

Spending anything near this amount is because you like the car for what it is rather than what others may think..Quote hits the nail on the head, get out and enjoy it while you can!Costafortune wrote: ↑Mon Apr 15, 2024 11:19 am The end result will be a cracking 998 Cooper that anyone would love to jump into on the spur of the moment and zip about in for an hour or two.
Let's not lose sight of what these thing are for.
I suspect the bootboard might have the wrong grain of bristles however.![]()

Just don't leave it unattended for more than half an hour if you park up anywhere.
