Love to see some period accessories - especially on the actual car they were originally fitted to in the first place.
It's lovely Andy. A real credit to you. Keep it up. You're nearly there now!
Thanks ;-)

I was wondering about trying to make it perfect but that wouldn't have been this car any more. As you'll spot in the flesh, there are still areas that have portapower dents and there's an inner wing crease that marks its final rally with a smashed in wing. I have left the pattern A panels on it that don't quite fit, and even left a visible weld join where one was added.

Its ' factory despatch day birthday' is Valentine's Day (Wednesday), so I'll add the Cooper and S Badge then, and also take a pic with its fibre glass bonnet on - it is hanging up behind the car with that particular sponsor's graphics on it - Helston Aero Park, or as it is known now, Flambards.

This is the kind of era I am matching the car to as best I can. I wanted to keep the chrome on however, and have replaced the fibre glass items with metal, specifically the bonnet and boot. Sponsors at that time were Post Office Telecoms - with Buzby stickers which are being redone for me. I still have some old Buzby badges and kiddy things that were given out when the car was rallied too, so they will be back in the door pockets ;-)

Yesterday was the 60th anniversary of the day the car was despatched, easy to remember as it was on Valentines ;-) It therefore seemed appropriate to fit the front badges on to the bonnet. Again thanks, to members on here who helped me sort rather nice ones ;-)

...and here is the shot with the old fibreglass sponsors bonnet (damaged the night before its final event) fitted alongside the spots. The original ST sump guard is a real lump of a thing.
