I agree re the spiral pipe protectors. They fit between the clips and act as a buffer to pprevent drumming between the pipe and the floor pan. I suppose that you could wrap a piece of thin sleeve around the pipe where it is clipped to the body.

Looking at the photos, it looks like the pipe could be made to fit - with a bit of judicious jiggling........
