Have you researched transitting the EU? In theory you will need a Carnet and then get it stamped on entry to the EU and then on exit from the EU.

So now whe are back form the UK i have to report how it all worked out.
First of all whe bought the Car at Middlesbrough and drove back to Switzerland.
At the border control at Dover no one wanted to give us any documents nor transit papers. Not at The UK border or the French.
Maybe because the Car came only with his Japanese Export Certificate and was never registered in the UK.
Whe were at the Customs here in Switzerland and recieved the necessary Paperwork.
Now whe have to do all the homologation wich means Noise test and Emission Cycle Test. Once these two Tests are successful whe are able to register it.
Fingers crossed

Pretty much like I said on page 1. If the documents ae in order and there is no dispute about the ownership, it is simple

In the 90s Ian Barrow, then Non-Cooper-Registrar of the MCR, phoned me that in his neighbourhood a woman wanted to sell her 1966 Morris Mini Minor Super de Luxe, as before when he visited me earlier that year I mentioned I would like to have a RHD Mk1 some day. The woman wanted 50GBP for the Mini. I was prepared to give her 100 if she kept it until my holiday to collect it. Glory days then, Brittain still in the EU, no problems at all bringing the Mini over here, as it was all within EU. At home I only had to apply for a certificate at the central vehicle register in Flensburg which stated that this car has never before been registered on the road in Germany. With this paper I could, after a complete test of the TÜV although a '66 car has much more freedom as modern cars, apply for a number plate.
Today it would certainly be more complicated and much more expensive importing a car into Europe.

Gosh, that is some machine!
Clad in checker plate, or constructed from checker plate?
Looks like its sitting on a steel A Frame, so is it a beam axle across the end of the A Frame, or two independent units bolted to the underside of the body?
Frenched front side markers..
And I hope that isnt your jockey wheel laying in the kerb?? (having run from CH jockey down..)
I havent got back to doing all my european jaunts....I still have one more trip to Mr Tricketts home to complete, then up to Belgium to pick up a Dutch car coming back to UK for resto work, + I have about 10 UK reg cars still in France waiting to return at some time.
I'll just mention, I certainly preferred the freedoms to work, and live my life across europe without intervention. Even travelling now as a tourist one feels more 'watched' than before.
I also recall prior to open borders coming back in thro dover with Citroen Tractions and having to wait hours for customs to sign them off.
What a folly that chaotic administration/leader (?) delivered for us.Ho Hum.

I've had to sit and think whether I should even bother writing this, but where there's a will, there is usually an easy way.
Not 6 months or so ago, I sold-on to Europe/Switzerland, on behalf of another older person who was petrified of doing it himself, an old 1960's Hillman. Only paperwork the buyer required was the current reg book/doc, a bill of sale from me plus a copy of my identity (passport) to prove provenance and letter from the keeper that I was authorised to do it on his behalf. That was it. Loaded and strapped into a Luton van, a couple of beers and a bit of a meal afterwards and off he drove. Overnight stop on the way and Switzerland a day or so later.
Paeperwork, you've got it all. He said that it was easier than taking his cattle to shows in France and Luxembourg
Hope that you are pleased at the ease of the sale Jaques..... And enjoy the restoration
